Last-Minute Holiday Entertaining Ideas From Nancy’s Cultured Dairy And Soy!

Thursday, December 19, 2013

Still designing the menu and grocery list for your holiday party?

If so, be sure to add Sour Cream and Cream Cheese, longtime staples of the holiday kitchen, to the list. It’s hard to even imagine a holiday gathering without classics like Lipton Onion Soup Mix dip or Aunt Mary’s cheese log on the table.

If, however, you are looking for some hors d’ouevre ideas that tap into old school traditions in new creative ways, the folks at Nancy’s Cultured Dairy and Soy have some inventive recipes to share, including a festive pinecone-shaped cheese log and a creamy clam dip.

Nancy’s Holiday Pinecone*

A pinecone shaped cheese log made with Nancy’s Organic Cream Cheese and Nancy’s Organic Sour Cream is adorned with toasted almonds and rosemary sprigs, to look like it was just picked off the tree. Seasoned with bacon, dill and chives, this take on the cheese log is as delicious as it is visually show stopping. Serve with crackers or toasted bread.

Chopped canned clams and minced yellow onion are blended with Nancy’s Organic Sour Cream and Nancy’s Organic Cream Cheese. Fresh lemon juice, Sriracha and Worcestershire sauce provide a kick and balance to the briny, salty clams. Serve with thick cut potato chips.
