VANCOUVER, WA (January 16, 2018) — Pan’s Mushroom Jerky launches a new flavor at the Winter Fancy Food Show. Zesty Thai takes the shiitake-based jerky to the next level. The new product is inspired by the original family recipe, and now it’s vegan and features organic and Non-GMO ingredients. “My family in Malaysia is culturally vegetarian,” says founder Michael Pan. “Prioritizing nutrition and enjoying a plant-based diet is a huge part of their lives. We’re seeing Americans awakening to this idea in big numbers now.” Come by and try some of the family’s Mushroom Jerky at the Pan’s Mushroom Jerky booth, #1664, at the Winter Fancy Food show in San Francisco this weekend.

Pan’s Mushroom Jerky launched in the Pacific Northwest in 2008 and is now available throughout the US. When founder Michael Pan was traveling throughout Malaysia visiting extended family he was offered a rich, savory snack that he thought was a pork-based snack. He discovered that it was a family recipe featuring Asian mushrooms and the idea for Pan’s Mushroom Jerky was born. “After my first piece of our family’s homemade mushroom jerky recipe, I knew my family had something special that had to be shared with the rest of the world.”
